Introduction
The Alberto Levi Gallery opened in 1997, following in a family tradition that dates back to the 19th century. We are dedicated towards the appreciation of carpet and textile art from antiquity to the present. We specialise in Oriental tribal and village rugs, but often present these side by side with 20th-century European avant-garde weavings. We curate private collections worldwide and advise young collectors in the world of antique textile art. At Hali Fair Online we present, among other things, a selection of fine Anatolian prayer rugs from our ‘Like A Prayer’ online exhibition, some early Ottoman textiles, a group of unusual pictorial rugs, antique Chinese and Tibetan rugs and a choice ensemble of rare European textiles.
