A finely woven Berber rug from the Zenaga region, located in the Moroccan High Atlas, distinguished by a light indigo blue background decorated by parallel rows of small lozenges in ivory and light orange and with a square central reserve containing geometric motifs characteristic of the iconography of the region. The rugs from the High Atlas mountains are quite different from those of the Middle Atlas in that they display a more orderly arrangement of the pattern in a texture which makes them closer to proper oriental rugs.
