Vintage Ourika Berber Flatweave
Woven with natural, undyed wool, flat-weaves such as the one illustrated here are characteristic of the Berber people located in the Ourika Valley, in the Moroccan High Atlas region. These wool covers are distinguished by the exclusive use of natural, undyed wool as well as by a pattern of irregularly drawn stripes onto which appear motifs similar to eyes, arranged at uneven intervals and in different shapes.
