An elegant and graphic old Berber rug from the Moroccan Middle Atlas is distinguished by a subtle grey striated background of natural undyed wool, which is in stark contrast with a dark brown rectangular niche form woven along three sides. Simple and extremely complex at the same time, it appears to speak the language of the unconscious. Recently sourced in Paris, it is the property of an art collector.
