This antique Cappadocian Zili flat-weave rug of this type were woven in the villages located around Karapinar, situated in the central Anatolian plain not far from Catal Huyuk, one of the cradles of civilization dating to the early Neolithic period. These kilims were woven using exclusively natural undyed wool mixed with goat hair wherever dark brown was necessary. These elegant flat weaves represent an ideal complement to the understated modernist interior.
