A very unusual Berber rug from the Boujad region, located on the foothills of the central High Atlas mountains of Morocco, distinguished by a Minimalist composition of vertical stripes in contrasting shades of ivory, red and blue. Hand knotted by exclusively using recycled cotton together with some Fine Industrial yarns, the ancient modernity of its iconography is quite characteristic of this area as well as of that of the nearby Azilal region. Works such as this piece were almost unknown to the west until recent times and represent the most authentic facet of Berber woven art.
