An unusual Berber rug decorated by an abstract chequerboard pattern in contrasting colours and by a pair of dome-shaped elements in the ‘salt-and-pepper’ technique. The pile is composed of different materials, ranging from wool and cotton to rags and lurex, typical of the rugs originating from from the rural areas of Boujad, located in the Moroccan Middle Atlas.
