Finely woven in Agra employing silky wool of the highest quality, this example represents possibly the earliest attempt at reproducing the colour and pattern of an original antique Agra. Commissioned by London’s Kennedy Carpets, it still remains one of the best examples of the ‘Renaissance’ of antique carpets, which began in the mid 1980’s. The colours are still vibrant and can brilliantly stand a juxtaposition with antique examples of the same type.
