One of the earliest and most archaic examples in our collection, showing a large central octagon containing a pair of emerald green affronting birds similar to eagles in flight. The ivories both for the background as well as for the border are randomly woven both in wool as well as cotton, a peculiar feature that I personally never encountered before. An early and mysterious bag that seems to predate most of the examples of this particular type.
