Also belonging to the ‘coloured Azilal’ subgroup is this sweet miniature rug, with its pattern of crenellated totemic devices, in which the weaver fully displays her ability to work on the reciprocals. The colour juxtaposition is such that our eye moves effortlessly from positive to negative patterns, connecting even more with the secret language contained within these archaic motifs.
