The antique main carpets of the Ersari tribe rarely depart from the traditional repeat pattern of large octagonal guls. Here the field design is composed of a diamond shaped matrix containing large octagons with hooked appendages, enclosing an eight-pointed star with four trefoil elements seen on the bags and trappings of the Ersari. An extremely rare piece with top quality colours and in very good condition for its age.
