An extremely fine khorjin from the Qashquli sub tribe, with the iconic anchor medallion of the Qashqa’i set against a dark blue ground. The field is embellished at the corner with directional floral elements reminiscent of those woven by the Mughal on their early rugs. The use of high-quality, soft wool is quite characteristic of the Qashquli, as is the use of a sharp red, seen here particularly in the border.
