Woven on a single-wefted cotton foundation, this pile khorjin face shows a single medallion with a stepped contour dominating a small red field, framed by a wide and polychrome abdal-burun border highlighted by the ivory background. The type of weave is reminiscent of that seen on northwest Persian runners ascribed to the Karaja area.
