Persian Modernist carpets represent a dramatic break from a very old tradition of classical patterns and colourways and were often the creations of individual workshops dedicated to satisfy a local demand for innovation, as most if not all were sourced in Iran. Here the field design looks like a representation of an ivory brick wall, framed however by a traditional Persianate pattern.
