Part of a tryptych, this pair of rugs is characteristic of the French Mid-Century Modern style developed after World War II, which owes much to the past by virtue of its impeccable construction yet looks at the future in its attempt at developing an innovative iconography. Both rugs, like the other one, are monogrammed with a symbol similar to the profile of a house. They would certainly benefit from professional cleaning as they both present a few superficial stains.
