A rare identical pair of period antique French Art Deco rugs, decorated at both ends by abstract diagonal motifs in two tones of brown against an ivory background. Both are embellished on the lower right corner by the artist’s monogram (HG), which we haven’t identified. Rugs of this type were commissioned during the Art Deco era to architects/designers, and were often part of an elaborate interior decoration project.
