A finely woven Chinese carpet of the type ascribed to the best workshops in Beijing distinguished by an oval format and characterised by a tone-on-tone leaf pattern in off beige-gold colours, framed by a border of stylised dragons with touches of soft blue.
Carpets of this type represent the highest quality of workmanship for early 20th century Chinese weavings and is inspired by Imperial Ningxia rugs of the 18th century.
