The infinite repeat pattern of hexagonal devices with a sawtooth outline seen here is characteristic of a type of Caucasian kilim, which becomes especially rare on a white background. It’s even more unusual to see it on a perfectly preserved saddlebag, complete of its elegantly striped back. Items of this type were rarely used, being stored away as prized dowry objects.
