A striking French Art Deco rug decorated by rectangular forms overlapping on various planes and creating a centralised motif of strong visual character. This type of pattern reflects the aesthetic ideals of Synthetic Cubism, the latter proving to be very influential in the development of the Art Deco design vocabulary, being adopted by leading carpet artists such as Ivan Da Silva Bruhns.
