A rare and original French Art Deco rug featuring a characteristic geometric pattern. Designs such as the one seen here are influenced by Cubism and often seen on carpets such those woven by Ivan da Silva Bruhns. The floral embellishments are a distinguishing early feature of these carpets, and are frequently seen on textiles and furniture of the first period, reminiscing the Art Nouveau style.
