A very finely woven Senneh rug, in wool on a cotton foundation, shows a very intricate rendering of the herati pattern on a soft terracotta background onto which is overlaid a central medallion in light turquoise and spandrels in soft teal green. Rugs of this type have always been appreciated for its fine workmanship and exquisite choice of materials, resulting in one of the most elegant manifestations of Persian textile art during the Qajar Dynasty.
