A very finely woven rug with an elegant, even surface depicting an arrangement of mixed ivory/brown undyed wool, with an effect similar to that of a zebra pelt. The background is embellished by touches of coloured fabric scraps, chosen carefully to be only in white, black and pink. It’s unusual to see such an expertly woven wool rug being made more precious through the addition of recycled fabric, which is typically considered a poor medium of expression. The weaver somehow felt that the composition would have been incomplete without it.
