Very finely woven with high quality wool, this early Belgian Art Deco rug comes with an unidentified monogram, thus defying a more precise attribution to a specific workshop.
Here we see a more traditional design substrate, paying tribute to the early experiments of Art Nouveau although embracing fully the floral style that will characterise the following decade. The excellent condition of the rug, in full pile with intact sides and ends, allows us to fully appreciate the aesthetic qualities of this masterpiece of 20th Century Design.
