A truly unusual Azilal rug, quite finely knotted in wool on a foundation of industrial cotton, with a pattern of vertical stripes in black, blue and red against an ivory background. It is a work of postmodern abstraction, another variation of the mixed media arrangements we see in Azilal weavings, ranging from rugs woven purely with recycled industrial fibres to others knotted entirely in wool.
