An antique, rare and early Zakatala rug distinguished by a truly primitive drawing, with a field pattern consisting of an asymmetric arrangement of hooked squares alternated with wonky polygons. The silky quality of the wool indicates that mountain nomads probably weaved it. It is a true work of antique tribal textile art.
