A rare and early Zakatala rug distinguished by a truly primitive drawing, with a field pattern consisting of an asymmetric arrangement of hooked squares alternated to wonky polygons. The silky quality of the wool indicates that it was probably woven by mountain nomads. A true work of antique tribal textile art.
