A very unusual rug of a format that is referred to as ‘wedding rug’, as these were woven by young brides-to-be and were an important part of their dowry. Here the weaver attempts at creating the honeycomb infinite repeat pattern with the so called dyrnak gul, a motif characteristic of the nearby Yomut tribe. The type of weave however indicates that it was woven by a young Goklan lady, possibly marrying into a Yomut household.
