Sumak covers are among the most sought after Caucasian flatweaves in that they offer a geometric pattern on a large format. Here we see the traditional design layout of three diamond medallions flanked by pairs of octagons. The rich colouration composed of clear reds, blues and yellows is typical of the earlier period.
