A beautifully distressed early Ningxia from the brief yet very noble Yongzheng period, distinguished by more delicate forms and softer contrasts. The remarkable intricacy of the central medallion, composed of two highly stylised dragons in combat, echoed also by the single geometricised dragons in the corners, contrasts with the delicate tone on tone pattern of the background and with the gentle motion of the border.
