This is a rare and unusual antique Khotan kilim cover from the Khotan oasis. It has a honeycomb arrangement of octagons containing polychrome stepped lozenges with hooked extensions. Similar patterns are seen in the pile rugs of this region, especially in conjunction with the stylised Greek fret border.
