A rare and elegant Tibetan rug in the khaden format distinguished by a beige background decorated by indigo blue scrolling peony flowers. The khaden format indicates that it was originally intended as a meditation rug for High Lamas in the Buddhist monasteries. The silky quality of the Himalayan woo, the fineness of weave and the very good condition contribute in placing this khaden at the pinnacle of the Tibetan weaving tradition.
