A fine antique Ghiordes rug distinguished by the rare pattern called ‘Cintamani’, originating from the Mongols and adopted as one of the favorite designs of the Ottoman court. The rug was stabilized ‘as found’ (unrestored) by hand stitching it onto a vintage hemp flat-weave in natural color. The dimensions listed are those of the rug itself (without the hemp flat-weave).
