A lovely antique Sarab rug distinguished by an unusual light green background, finely embellished by parallel and offset rows of small geometric devices, creating a soft matrix, filled with a stylised herati pattern on which is overlaid a very small medallion. The use of fine camel hair, characteristic of this group of early Hamadan village rugs, for some parts of the pile adds a touch of preciousness to the composition.
