A stunning flat-woven saddle bag, which had been opened at some stage of its life, allowing us to enjoy the various combinations of colour and pattern. Distinguished by a fairly unique blue green background, it shows front panels decorated by a pair of red flame-like motifs, embellished at its ends with weft float brocading in wool and cotton. The back consists of red stripes of irregular width, the lower five being dyed in a rare aubergine purple.

The result is a weaving of great graphic power, appealing especially to the minimalist sensibility of the new generation of collectors.
