A rare and beautiful Austrian Savonnerie carpet woven in a Viennese workshop at around the turn of the century, delicately decorated by tone-on-tone pastel motifs in the romantic floral style characteristic of the period, characteristic of the transition from the more formal representations of the nineteenth-century floral style to the more experimental forms of the Art Nouveau/Jugendstil period.
The soft overall palette makes this carpet an ideal backdrop for many different settings, from modern to eclectic.
