A finely woven vintage Berber ‘Desert Sand’ flat-weave Haik rugfrom the Mejjat tribe, located in the most southern part of the Moroccan Anti Atlas region. Distinguished for their blanket-like handle and for their unique iconography, where the weft directed patterns converge towards the center giving the visual impression of sand in the desert. This example is particularly noteworthy for its clever use of soft tonalities of natural undyed wool.
