an unusual pattern for Khotans, consisting of two rows of five compartments floating on a coral pink background punctuated by multicoloured rosettes. Five compartments contain the longevity motif, four have a geometric network of palmettes and one a fairly unique hooked element. The overall arrangement of the design reminds me of Safavid garden carpets.
