A rare two-panel flat-weave, composed of a dark chocolate background embellished by a sparse and irregular arrangement of ivory horizontal stripes, the latter colour being used also for the end skirts. The crispness with which these lines cut through the darkness of the background, together with its rhythm and spacing, makes me pause for a moment and wonder whether we are dealing with a conceptual work of art rather than with an example of ethnographic art.
