The rugs of the Beni Mguild tribe, located in the Moroccan Middle Atlas Mountains, are often distinguished by the rich tone of their monochromatic rugs, woven with lanolin-rich wool and constructed in particularly sturdy fashion. This example is woven in indigo-dyed wool, which is rare to find and is indicative of the rug’s age as well as quality. The resulting blue color gradations impart the rug with a timeless beauty.
