A highly graphic Berber carpet from the Azilal region, located in the Moroccan central high Atlas. Azilal weavings are distinguished by an almost calligraphic approach to design, where the pattern unfolds as if drawn by hand on canvas. This rug has a sturdiness that is comparable to that of Beni Ouarain weavings, which resemble Azilals because they employ only natural, undyed wool.
