Renowned as a trailblazer in interior design, Barbara Frua redefines the relationship between spaces and the ground they inhabit, infusing artistry into everyday living. Her compositions spontaneously appear as a contemporary reinterpretation of the 20th Century Milanese design tradition, from Giò Ponti to Ettore Sottsass.
Fortino was designed for our gallery as part of the Par terre collection. Here her goal was to go beyond showcasing the sophisticated craftsmanship of carpets; it is a celebration of tradition and decorum that transcends the conventional boundaries of rug design, harmonising functionality and aesthetics.
This process of elaboration has generated a collection of carpets characterised by a continuum, expressed through different variations defined by a range of materials and textures. Given her vast chromatic range, the possibilities for combination are endless, allowing each client to express their personal preferences in creating their own living environment.
