A rare and early Tulu woven using the finest Angora wool, resulting in a finely woven rug with a silky texture and a blanket-like handle. The soft camel field is embellished by a zoomorphic central device similar to some motifs founds in Neolithic cave paintings.
Examples of this type represent the pinnacle of the primitive pile weaving tradition, and were woven by the Yuruk nomads inhabiting the Toros mountains, located in central Anatolia close to the Neolithic site of Catal Huyuk.
