The Hali Colloquium

The Hali Colloquium – taking in the beauty of Italy’s textile art.

HALI magazine has significantly contributed to collectors and the rug world for decades. As a premier publication focused on antique carpets and textiles, it has fostered a vibrant community of enthusiasts and experts. Through its in-depth articles, stunning visuals, and insightful analysis, HALI has celebrated the beauty of rugs and provided valuable historical and cultural context. By featuring rare pieces, interviews with collectors, and contributions from leading scholars, the magazine has elevated the appreciation and understanding of rugs, promoting a deeper connection between collectors and the art form. For this reason, rich content continues to inspire, educate, and unite the global rug community.

HALI has organised several exciting and special events in Italy 5-11 February 2023 to precede the two-day colloquium and expert conference “Kerman Carpets of the Safavid Period (1501-1736)” on 10-11 February in Genoa. Conceived as a celebration of the wealth of antique carpets and textiles in Italy, a week of talks, guided museum visits, and exhibitions will focus on the important artworks held in public institutions and private collections in Florence, Milan and Turin.
