As with this yellow ground Kazak rug, embellished by parallel rows of Memling guls by stacked polychrome branches of animal heads, as if guarding the central composition. Rugs of this type have sometimes been ascribed to the Kurdish enclaves of southern Caucasus, although there is no direct evidence for such an attribution.
