JAN KATH

JAN KATH – The young German artist Jan Kath has to be considered among the finest talents of the new generation of carpet designers. His works are distinguished primarily by open fields enriched through the use of Himalayan silky wool or by innovative materials such as nettle and hemp, as well as silk which is used to highlight certain elements of the design. The strong chromatic impact of Kath’s Tibetan carpets is due to the use of vegetable dyed handspun wool, in an array of colours which range from earth tones to psychedelic palettes. Kath’s collection comprises a rich set of designs and is available in various qualities.
